The 'Pathfinder 2010' Objectives
Our 2010 objectives include:
An assessment of existing initiatives to counter illegal trade in natural resources from fragile and conflict zones.
The creation of a network involving a wide range of actors including international organisations, regional organisations, governments, non-governmental organisations and private companies.
The organisation of a state-of-the-art conference on illegal trade in natural resources involving a diverse panel of experts working in the fields of international environmental law, illegal trade, development policies and peace & conflict management
The sensitisation of senior officials in national governments and european institutions on the importance and effectiveness of legal measures for resolving issues of illegal trade in natural resources from conflict zones.
A public awareness campaign on the issue of illegal trade in natural resources and the promotion of public support for increased transparency in international trade.
