Environmental Security for Poverty Alleviation - 2006-2010
Overview
The ESPA programme builds upon the IES Prototype EnviroSecurity Assessments carried out in 2004-2005. In the new programme we continue our monitoring, mapping and GIS interface work and the development and implementation of EnviroSecurity Action Plans with respect to Kalimantan in Indonesia, the Virunga-Bwindi region in Africa and the Mataven area in Colombia.
Our aim is to ensure that the data for each of these case studies stays up-to-date and that we follow through on the implementation of the recommendations from these studies.
Other goals and possible other eco-regions for future studies to be launched beginning in 2007 are outlined on the ESPA methodology page.
