Major General (ret) RNLMC Kees Homan

Major General Homan is a senior research Fellow at the Netherlands Institute for International Relations "Clingendael" in The Hague where he focuses on international security issues and a wide range of strategic and military studies.
At present, General Homan's research projects include Afghanistan, NATO's new strategic concept and the effect of climate change on security.
He holds two Masters degrees, one in Law and another in Political Science, and he is a graduate of the Dutch Royal Naval Academy.
Major Homan has served in different parts of the world, from Aruba to Egypt. Before retiring from the military, he most recently served as Director of the Netherlands Defence College.
