Cheikh Ould Ahmed

Cheikh Ould Ahmed is Head of Fishery Surveillance, Ministery of Fisheries and Former Director of the Navy, Mauritania.

Born on 31 December 1954 in F'Derick in the North of Mauritania, Cheikh Ould Ahmed joined the Mauritanian Navy in 1977. During his career, he was successively assigned PB Ox's, Pb captain, Naval base Cdr, Ops Chief and finally Director of the Navy in 2003. More recently, he was transferred to the DSPCM, Delegation a la Surveillance des Pèches et au Contrôle en Mer, which is the Ministry of Fisheries as Head of Fishery Surveillance.

Besides Navy training, Cheikh Ould Ahmed is a USGC Reserve Training Center graduate (Yorktown, Va) and he attended also environmental courses like the Wetland International course (Lelystad, Netherlands). He speaks Arabic, French and English.
