National Association of Professional Environmentalists in Uganda (NAPE)
This Ugandan environmental organization was set up in 1997 to promote sustainable and equitable resource management. The association undertakes lobbying and advocacy activities with a specific focus on water management, energy governance, forest and wetlands management, environmental justice and chemicals management. Among many other activities, NAPE was involved in the Mabira forest campaigns, in campaigns against mining in Queen Elizabeth National Park, in establishing the Uganda Dams Dialogue and in promoting geothermal energy in western Uganda.
