Jonathan Solomon became an IES Associate Fellow in 2011.
Jonathan is currently finishing his studies of political science at the Free University Berlin. He was part of the organisational team for the climate camp 2011 and was involved in the general energy struggles in Germany. He started his societal engagement during his political studies at the University of Konstanz working for Studieren-ohne-Grenzen e.V. and globalisation critical student initiatives.
In 2009 he met IES President Wouter Veening at the World Model U.N. in The Hague and was impressed by the IES workshop in that event and joined IES as an intern in fall of the same year to work on The Hague Environmental Law Facility (HELF) project.
During this period he was invited to the University St. Gallens' challenge the best - Climate Change and Social Order, the Humboldt University's sustainability conference and the international summer academy of the German council of foreign relations on Climate Change and International Security.
He organised the IES Workshop on Satellite Monitoring for Environmental Legal Compliance and Enforcement in The Hague in April 2010 and was part of delivering the second HELF report on improved compliance and enforcement of international environmental law.Back to people page
