Geraud de Ville

Geraud de Ville is Information Officer and Pathfinder Programme Coordinator at the Institute for Environmental Security.

He has a Master's Degree in Law and a DES in International Development from the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium. During his studies, he has lived in the US and Italy and traveled intensively to South America and Asia.

His previous work experience include working for a European Political Party as a communication officer, researcher and main contact with national parliamentarians. In 2007, he also set up and launched a European Political Foundation.

He joined the Institute for Environmental Security in October 2007 as Information Officer and assisted in the organisation of several international conferences. In 2008 he was appointed Pathfinder Programme Coordinator. This programme aims at finding legal mechanisms to block the import of illegally extracted natural resources from zones of conflict.

Geraud is also responsible of setting up and managing the new IES office in Brussels.

He speaks fluently French, English and Italian and has a good knowledge of Spanish and Dutch.
